Special Cards Expansion Pack is not a standalone plugin. It requires Card Duel System v1.4.0 or newer and Card Duel Studio v1.7.0 or newer, which is included with the main Card Duel System product.

Plugin Overview

What is an Expansion Pack?

An Expansion Pack, or EP, is an optional add-on created to extend Card Duel System with a focused new feature. It uses the cards, languages, artwork, and project information already managed by Card Duel Studio, then adds its own configuration options and runtime functionality.

Expansion Packs do not replace or include the main Card Duel System plugin. They are designed for developers who want to expand their card game with additional systems while keeping everything connected to the same Studio project.

Plugin Details: Special Cards Expansion Pack

Special Cards Expansion Pack gives selected in-game cards animated foil, holographic patterns, reflections, and sparkling highlights while preserving their original artwork.

Create and preview finishes in Card Duel Studio, assign one directly to a card, or use a rarity-based default. A card's own finish takes priority over the finish assigned to its rarity.

Finishes can appear across duels, inspections, rewards, the Deck Manager, and compatible Expansion Pack views. Card backs, hidden cards, unknown cards, and full artwork views retain their original presentation.

• Studio Authoring: Create and preview reusable finishes, then assign them to individual cards or entire rarities.

• Flexible Presentation: Configure thumbnail and large-card effects separately for each supported game section.
• Interactive Inspection Tilt: Tilt controllable closeup cards with mouse, touch, keyboard, or gamepad input.

Differences between the Versions

Special Cards Expansion Pack is currently available as a Full release. There is no separate Demo version available at this time.

The Full version contains the complete animated-finish system, Studio editor and previews, card and rarity assignments, per-section presentation controls, interactive inspection tilt, accessibility options, and performance settings described on this page.

Full versions receive feature updates and direct support. Remember that support is always provided for the most recent available version of the plugin.

Compatibility and Documentation

This Expansion Pack requires Card Duel System v1.4.0 or newer and Card Duel Studio v1.7.0 or newer. Keep Special Cards Expansion Pack below the main plugin in the RPG Maker MZ Plugin Manager.

Create and preview finishes in Card Duel Studio under Expansion Packs > Special Cards. Assign them through Cards > Special Card or Customize > Rarity > Special Effect.

The plugin, its parameters, and its technical documentation are provided in English. English and Spanish tilt labels are included and can be adjusted through the Plugin Manager.

Overall intensity, reduced motion, thumbnail and large-card presentation, per-section visibility, rendering quality, inspection tilt controls, and sparkle behavior are available through the Plugin Manager.

Special Cards does not require plugin commands. Assigned finishes appear automatically in supported card views.
