Thanks to our Simple Cooking System plugin, having a system for crafting dishes and foods in your game will be much simpler!

We have worked to cover many of the essential aspects that you may need to add this mechanic in a simple, fast, and uncomplicated way that can adapt to any project!

Its use is really very simple:
Create all the ingredients you want to use from the database normally in the objects tab, and add the comment in the notes section with: <ingredient> so that the system can detect that this is an ingredient and can treat it as such.

Then, simply manage all the recipes you want to create from the plugin's parameters, adding their quantities, the tool required for their preparation, and their additional conditions.

Once you have everything configured, simply call the Cooking scene with the plugin command, and create the recipes from scratch by searching for the ingredients from the corresponding option or load recipes from the Recipe Book to avoid having to know the recipe by heart.

All these things and many more are customizable so that the plugin adapts perfectly to your project!

  • Unlimited Recipes:
    Create as many recipes as you want: Thanks to our simple management from the plugin parameters, you can create a simple Chicken Rice recipe, to the supreme Sandwich of the gods combining 15 different ingredients!


  • Chances of Failure:
    Thanks to our system of dynamic formulas, you can make a recipe fail when prepared, resulting in food... not so appetizing. You can even implement a cooking skills system for your game that allows you to reduce the chances of failing recipes!
    It's just a matter of imagining what you want to do, and incorporating it into your game!


  • Create Custom Tools:
    By default we have included some classics that every game should have, but of course you can customize it as you wish and add new ones if you wish!
    Yes! If you like, you can make your cooking tool a laser beam! Just be careful not to hurt yourself!


  • Progressive Recipe and Tool Unlocking:
    Of course you can make it so that at the beginning of the game you don't have any recipes or tools and unlock them as your game progresses. Thanks to our simple management with Switches or Plugin Commands, all this is covered so you can do whatever you want at the right time.


Use Examples

  • Dynamic Cooking System: Well configured and with good management and control of events, you can make the cooking system only allow you to cook simple recipes on a bonfire if you are camping, or use all the available tools if you are in your home's kitchen (Or invading the house of some NPC who obviously wants you to use their things and leave without washing the dishes)


  • Mixing and Potion System:
    Well... It's not mainly intended for this, but that doesn't mean you can't do it! After all, cooking and doing Alchemy is basically the same: In one you combine tonics, leaves, and essences of vermin, and in another you combine foods. So yes.. You should be able to do it without problems! You will be able to use it to craft potions by combining Water and Tree Leaf Extract.

Differences between the Versions

Demo versions are early builds of the plugin. They have fewer features and differ significantly from the full releases. However, they serve as examples: they allow you to quickly grasp what the plugin can do and often provide enough functionality for smaller projects.

Is it possible to separate, for example, cooking over a campfire (with your own field tools and recipes), cooking at home in the kitchen (with your own recipes and tools) and cooking in a professional room? So that these data arrays do not overlap and are not displayed at the same time.

Hi, how are you? Let's see, it's a Simple Cooking system. I mean, you can create recipes and custom tools, but it doesn't have super-complex features, as they would be difficult to program.

I roughly understand what you're looking for...
I suppose you could create several similar recipes with the same prerequisite items but that use and require different tools and produce different results.
Combine this with the Unlock Switch system, which allows a recipe to be enabled or disabled depending on the status of a switch and, depending on where you are, whether you activate certain switches.

I suppose it would be the only possible way to do it with the current system.

I haven't purchased the plugin yet. I'm thinking, looking for options. There are no international bank transfers in my country due to the sanctions. Therefore, every purchase needs to be considered. I often have to use the services of unscrupulous intermediaries. But these are my difficulties) It doesn't matter. The question is different. Unlocking a recipe - is when studying. But it doesn't allow you to track which recipes were learned in which branch. And quickly edit the lists during development. In addition, is it possible to connect the background image to the window and modify it?

Let me explain:

Here, there are two different concepts:

  1. The recipes themselves can only be unlocked (if configured that way in the plugin parameters) exclusively with Switches. Don’t forget that a "Recipe" is defined as the ability to generate an item: "Result", by combining other items with a specific tool.

  2. The recipe book is a "memory aid" to quickly load recipes. That is, it allows us to directly load into the interface the materials (ingredients) needed to produce a specific recipe. The plugin command that unlocks a recipe simply unlocks the entry in the Recipe Book, but as I explained before, recipes are only unlocked with a Switch of the player's choice. By default, all recipes are already unlocked unless specifically blocked by a Switch. And in the case of the recipe book, the entry will only appear once the recipe has been crafted at least once, or has been unlocked with the specific plugin command.

This means that if, for example, my Pizza recipe requires: 1x Dough with Yeast, 1x Tomato Sauce, and 3x Cheeses, and I’ve never made a Pizza before, it will not appear in the Recipe Book. But if I manually input those ingredients in the correct quantity, the system will allow me to make the Pizza, and once I do, I’ll unlock that entry in the Recipe Book. If that Pizza was blocked by a Switch, then depending on what I’ve set in the plugin parameters, it could either display a Lock message or simply not appear as available to craft (as if the recipe doesn’t exist, basically). I hope I explained myself clearly.

As for the UI, for now, it doesn't support setting a background image in the scene, and it uses the RPG MAKER MZ default windows from your Window Skin. Just like in the game menus. So currently there is no way to make the interface "transparent."

Hey, greetings from Germany
I like your plugin so far, but I encountered a small problem.
I can imagine that others have the same problem.
I have recipes with almost the same ingredients,
e.g. Hamburger (bread, lettuce, patty, tomato)
and Cheeseburger (bread, patty, lettuce, cucumber, cheese)
The Hamburger Reciepe works, but not the Cheeseburger
The plugin says that I have the same ingredients
and should specify my recipe!
I have tried several combinations but it just wont work

Otherwise, this is a great plugin. It allows for a pretty robust cooking system and it's easy to set up.

Hello. How are you? As far as I remember, the issue was already resolved. Have you tried using the latest version of the plugin? (Even try the alternative version) And make sure you have all the parameters configured correctly.

I replaced the plugin with the alternative version and the recipes with similar ingredients worked correctly. Thank you!
